Taking in the world around me, then fashioning it into a new point of view has been the key principle of my work and always will be. With any luck, I've managed to turn the mundane things in life into something that you can't stop looking at because its beauty is arresting.

Why pets?
As a dog and cat mom to the triple threat: Murray (left), Jeff (middle) and Walter (right), I’ve seen the impact pets have on their people, and I believe caring for an animal is one of the best things anyone can do for their wellbeing. My goal is to capture a moment of that happy friendship on canvas.
Oil paints allow me to work wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry to capture a beautiful variety of fur textures. I can slowly build an animal’s likeness from the ground up. The translucence of oil paints brings depth and life into the final portraits, so you can almost believe they’re looking out at you.
